Davis Brothers' Farm Shop

3520 Davis Lake Rd, Lapeer

The Davis Brothers' Farm Shop Museum is one of three museums we operate, and was made possible by a generous donation of the land, buildings, and artifacts by Jim and Patti Davis.

A saw mill once used on the Davis farm has been restored and is operating during Farm Fest and other special events.

Other outdoor demonstrations include threshing oat and wheat with a vintage thresher. A 1930s stationary baler bales the straw from the threshing machine. Other vintage farm equipment is on display.

We have developed a farm history education program for elementary students. This program provides hands-on learning activities to acquaint children with farm life in an earlier time.

The Maple Sugarbush Memorial Grove has expanded yearly as individuals adopt trees to be planted in memory or honor of loved ones. A belt of native white pine was donated and planted by Chatfield students.

A 4-H Exhibit provides artifacts, pictures, and news stories about that organization.

Exhibits reflect farm life in the 1930s and 1940s.
